What

The Yorkshire Ballet seminars were started in 1973 by David Gayle, the first boy to be taken onto the Teacher Training course at the Royal Ballet School. He has lured to Yorkshire some of the greatest names in the 20th century dance giving students the chance to work with teachers who have trained some of the world's greatest dancers and the privilege of experiencing star quality at first hand.

Micheal O'Hare at YBS in his younger days

There are many scholarships (especially for boys). The list of past scholarship winners is impressive and includes Kevin O'Hare- winner of the First David Blair scholarship and Andrea Tredennick - winner of the 1983 Markova scholarship.
The seminar offers the opportunity for those who do class a few times a week to see those from the vocational school such as the Royal Ballet School in the same class.
